I Think Our Apartment is Haunted

Or not...
You decide.
i was in bed last night sleeping with husband, and i was in a pretty deep sleep, but i was suddenly woke up to a mans voice yelling "Nooooooooo", and then it drifted off. It sounded like it was in the same room as us but it was distant at the same time. It didn't wake husband up though. I tried to wake him up to make him listen too, but he's such a deep sleeper i don't think anything short of a gun going off can wake him. I can never wake him when he's pushing me off by taking up the whole bed. i have to climb over him to take his side until he tries to take that side back. haha, ok i'm just kidding about that part, but i've thought about it more then once.
Anyway, I told him about it this morning. I'm not sure he believes me though. Usually, if he didn't hear it or see it then in his opinion it didn't happen.
I've thought about it today, and i know i was awake before it faded away. What do you think? Any opinions? Thoughts? Similar stories?
Just wondering :]

So Many Things

So this last week was pretty good i think, besides just having my birthday.
We helped a family friend with his Eagle Scout Project, and in turn we were sent home with a huge foil baking dish of left over pulled pork. We each ate at least one meal of it, if not 2, every day, and husband took a 1/3 of it to work to share with the guys there. Finally we took what was left with us to a friends for dinner and left the leftovers with them. I wish i had thought to take a picture of how much of this pulled pork there really was.
Monday i got presents from my mommy :]]
she sent me some really great picture frames that i've been wanting. Now i can frame The Proclamation to the World, The Living Christ, and one of our wedding pictures all in matching frames. Plus, she got us a beautiful picture of the Idaho Falls LDS Temple (where we got married) that i've been in love with. That one is custom so we're still waiting for that one. Its not the one linked, though i do like that picture. Plus, remember in this post (#2), where i said i want to do some real cake decorating? She sent me all the stuff i've been wanting to get so i can get started.
Then i got my gift from husband that also goes back to that post (#3). A soldering iron. i'm going to set up a small radio and work bench in the garage and start working on some art after the move and Thanksgiving is over. I'm really looking forward to that. I'm not sure how cold it gets here in the winter, but i think it'll work fine....i hope.
Then after cleaning the church Saturday morning, i'm not sure if this was a gift or love or for fun because i don't know how it all happened, but Husband took me furniture shopping... :]] WOW. That was a highlight. After all the extra money we've spent this month we had money to buy furniture. I know how to go without things that i want, or making do with what i have so it wasn't that bad, but husband and i had made a deal that when we got a new bed he could get a new tv. Our bed is fine for a little while, but month after month after month.....not so great. I was getting so desperate i was starting to look on Craigs List for one. But, i'm finding out if i let something sit in husbands mind long enough without pushing it he'll run with it and its all good some how. We got a mailer for a furniture store that had a couch on it that we, amazingly, both liked. There was also an incentive for $500 worth of groceries. So we agreed to go to the store to check it out. When we got there we found the couch, and it turned out to be perfect. We even went around the store to make sure there wasn't a better one, but we already found our winner. We found the mattress set, and then we were walking past the dining sets and started talking about them.....we hadn't planned on getting it at all yet, i was more then willing to wait till next year....but we picked one out. They're delivering it all on Friday and i don't think i can be more excited :) I kept my end of the deal after that, and we went and got a new flat panel tv. He hasn't set it up yet since we're moving this week there isn't really much point unpacking it and repacking so soon, though i think he disagrees.
So, this week we're getting ready to move. It won't be too bad because i've looked around and we really didn't unpack much when we moved into the apartment, so its that much easier on us. I'm moving all our services and changing address on everything, on Friday we get the keys and furniture delivered, and Saturday morning we move it all over to the house just a few blocks away. Then next week i'll finally be able to unpack all our stuff since leaving Port Angeles 4 months ago, and i'm hoping to have it mostly set up by Thanksgiving.
Then i will be posting pictures.
Wish us luck!

Birthday Girl

Last Sunday was my birthday :]] I've hit a new stage in my life i think...or at least it sounds like i should be in a new one.
26
Wow. i'm on the down side of my 20's now, and that seems strange to me. I remember turning 15 and thinking how i was half way to 30.
....that feels like it wasn't very long ago....and 30 doesn't sound that old anymore.
My grandpa passed away in his 40's. When i was a little girl that sounded so old to me. i shake my head at that now.
At what age do we stop wanting to grow up and start wishing we were younger?

My birthday didn't seem like a big deal to me (it hasn't for several years really), it kind of felt like every other day. But i was good with that. Saturday the 7th we went out for dinner at Marie Callender's, and lucky us, it turned out to be Karaoke night! It was in their bar area (i didn't even know they had a bar area), and it was mostly little old couples and people that shouldn't even be trying to sing. You're jealous right? You wish you could have been there with us, i know. I can honestly say i would have felt left out if we hadn't sat close enough by to see the show. We didn't sing, but husband spent most of the meal trying to come up with songs he could get up and sing for me.
On the actual "big day" Husband was supposed to work all day, but they sent him home early (at 3:30!) because they had an extra crew in from Hawaii after the plane crash still running the base, so i only had to go to church alone. My little nursery kids sang happy birthday for me and it was SOOO cute. When husband got home we went and had dinner at a friends house. They got me a birthday pie, banana cream, not knowing i don't like bananas, but i ate some anyway because she tried so hard to do something for me and i really was grateful.
And then this week i got some present. Over all, it was a good birthday. I took complete advantage of getting everything i wanted for a few days (a glass of water once and a while, going out for ice cream after dinner one night, ect.) by saying it was for "the birthday girl" :) Husband is such a push over it worked. I love him. i'm just grateful i got to spend so much time with my best friend (husband if you hadn't guessed who i was talking about).
Now on to the next year of life. As long as i have husband, i can't wait to see what's next.

Craft/Cooking Blog...?

Ok readers, i've been playing with the idea of starting a craft/cooking blog, but i don't know if it will well followed or if its even worthy of its own blog...
I love to cook and i love to make things, and i plan to be doing a lot more of that. And that's what i seem to be posting on this blog or wanting to do more of at least, so i'm thinking i'll move everything craft/cooking related over from this blog to the craft/cooking blog and keep this one about husband and i. There are holidays coming up now, so i'll be cooking more, and as soon as we get into our house later this month i'll be making some new things; a bed frame, a padded headboard, some paintings, decorating, sewing...to name a few. So i have things i will be posting along those lines. And then, the two of us will be doing a few things coming up soon.....i'm just figuring we keep this a family blog for updates on us. So...let me know what you think. Would it be easier that way?

Christmas in November

A friend posted this on her Facebook page today and it was really touching to me:

Five 5 year old Noah is in his last stage of a 2 1/2 yr battle with Neuroblastoma cancer. The family is celebrating Christmas next week and Noah's wish is to get LOTS of Christmas cards.

The simplicity of this request, the whole story really, it breaks my heart and I know i'll be making a card tonight. I have this brave selfless young mans address, so i'm asking anyone that would like to make this wish come true for him PLEASE leave a comment on my page with your email address and i would be more then willing to send it to you.

Fall Is Here

By now some of you may have heard about the air collision of the Navy helicopter and the Coast Guard C-130 here of the coast of California. The plane was stationed out of Sacramento here where husband is stationed and its the same type of plane that John works with. I am thankful to say that husband was not on the downed plane, that he was home when the incident happened. He had helped the plane get ready earlier that day, and he knew some of the crew, though not very well, and he took the news kind of hard, but we are counting our blessing and our prayers are with the crew and their families.
I'm only bringing it up because i'm still receiving phone calls, texts, and emails concerning it, so i just wanted to let you all know, and we appreciate all the concern.

We've made some friends from church that live really close by that we have been spending time with. This last Saturday for Halloween we all (minus husband because he had to work [sad face]) went to Apple Hill to do some sight seeing and scenery viewing and apple farm enjoying. It was fun :) It would have been better for me if husband had come, but it didn't happen so now i know which farms to take him to next year, and i made the best of it with the friends.
I stole husband's good camera and took it up with us. It was a beautiful day and i think i got some great fun pictures, so...
ENJOY!

i PROMISE we didn't do this to the scarecrow. He was like this when we found him.

i felt so bad for this little Lamb, he was just sitting by himself looking so sad...

the tractor was tipped a little on the hill, so i felt like i was falling over the whole time, but it was too fun to resist this photo opp. terrible picture of me though...dang it.
